Warren Brinson grew up loving both Georgia and Georgia Tech. The 3-star DT prospects (off the 247Sports Composite) hails from Savannah.

He left Chatham County prior to his junior season to attend IMG Academy in Florida. Brinson’s recruitment definitely took off at an accelerated pace. He attended no more than three camps and one of those was at Georgia.

That’s where he picked up his first college offer. The junior was thrilled by the offer but was soon on his way to Florida to play for the Ascenders shortly thereafter. When he arrived, he quickly broke into the starting lineup for the opening game of the 2018 season.

Brinson made a trip to see Georgia on his first unofficial visit after the 2018 season and committed on the spot. Brinson had planned to do that prior to making the trip for the Georgia Tech game.

But things change. Brinson has seen big offers come his way over the last week. He took some time on Tuesday evening on Twitter to announce that he has de-committed from Georgia.

Brinson told DawgNation that he was quite happy with his pledge and his strong relationship with line coach Tray Scott earlier this month at the Under Armour “Future 50” media event in Orlando.

The decision now leaves the Bulldogs with just three commitments in the 2020 class at this time. Brinson was one of three defensive tackle prospects who had been pledged to play for Scott in Athens.

He expressed the reason to back things up a bit in his de-commitment statement.

“This entire recruiting process has been very challenging for me,” Brinson said.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder also stressed in his statement above that he didn’t want to make a rash decision and that he felt that his strong relationship with UGA and its coaching staff had not changed.

The Georgia native summed up his thoughts by stating simply that he wanted to make sure he made the choice that was the best option for his future.

It now appears that will be what he will do. Brinson does plan to graduate early after his senior season and enroll at that best option for his future in January of 2020.
