Basketball phenom Anthony “Antman” Edwards isn’t the only UGA athlete who is expected to turn pro and be drafted professionally in the first round in a few months.

Cole Wilcox is a strong-armed pitcher who has been clocked at 100 mph as a pitcher for the Bulldogs’ baseball team.

As you know, the NCAA went ahead and canceled the baseball season this week due to coronavirus – even though the College World Series isn’t scheduled until June. Even SEC commissioner Greg Sankey expressed skepticism over the NCAA making sure an early decision on a college sport that is so far away from its championship conclusion.

As with every NCAA athlete who had their season abruptly halted, Wilcox was surprised by the decision. Despite the fact that Wilcox probably has millions of dollars waiting for him in the MLB draft and risks getting hurt if UGA plays again, that’s exactly what he wants – more baseball with his Bulldogs teammates.
