ATHENS — Aaron Murray has yet to throw a pass in a real NFL game, but the former Georgia star quarterback is still trying.

The Carolina Panthers had Murray in for a tryout, Joe Person of the Carolina Panthers reported on Tuesday. The Panthers currently have three quarterbacks signed.

Murray was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He was the No. 3 quarterback for two seasons, then was waived last September. He was picked up by the Arizona Cardinals, but then quickly signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, where the head coach was Doug Pederson, his former QB coach and offensive coordinator with the Chiefs.

Murray was Georgia’s starting quarterback from 2010-13, leaving school as the record-holder in many passing and offensive categories.
