Georgia was picked to win the SEC at last month’s SEC media days. The overall team talent is a big reason why.

The Bulldogs placed 15 players on the Preseason All-SEC, just besting Alabama with 14. The Texas Longhorns placed 10 on the three teams.

Georgia also had a league-best five players on the First Team. Quarterback Carson Beck, running back Trevor Etienne, offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse and safety Malaki Starks were the five first-team selections.

Offensive guard Dylan Fairchild, offensive tackle Xavier Truss, tight end Oscar Delp, edge rusher Mykel Williams, inside linebacker Smael Mondon and wide receiver Dillon Bell all made the second team. Bell was an all-purpose selection.

Wide receiver Dominic Lovett, offensive tackle Earnest Greene, defensive back Daylen Everette and punter Brett Thorson made the third team.

Georgia also placed 15 players on the media’s Preseason All-SEC teams as well. Those were released back in July.

Georgia opens the 2024 season against Clemson on Aug. 31. You can see the full All-SEC team selections below.
