DawgNation has four staffers who cover the team from every angle: Beat, live streams, photos, podcasts, recruiting, etc. The Cover 4 aim is simple: 1) Present a topic; 2) Offer a reasoned response; 3) Share a brisk statement to support the informed opinion.

The Bulldogs are 4-0 and 2-0 in the SEC. We know what everyone is talking about right now.

Today’s question: What will be the major midseason talking point for UGA football?

Will DawgNation still be harping about sacks and run defense? Will the Bulldogs render those ball drops near the goal line a distant memory? Will the fan base and the national media still be looking for more dominant SEC victories then? Or is that the new normal?

Our DawgNation Cover 4 crew does not see any of those items as the major talking point at midseason.

These takes are designed to come out even faster than Mecole Hardman Jr. has scored seven touchdowns across his last five games for the Bulldogs.

What will be the major talking point at midseason?

Brandon Adams: Freshman LBs

Brandon Adams will be watching out for the continued development of freshman OLB Brenton Cox (far left) among a few others elite prospects on defense. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

Why: Who will be the first freshman linebacker to emerge in a starring role: Brenton Cox on the outside? Channing Tindall or Quay Walker inside?

Chip Towers: An unblemished record

Georgia coach Kirby Smart shows off an AC/DC worthy “Stiff Upper Lip” prior to the Middle Tennessee game. He likely won’t pay much attention to the thought of the Bulldogs going unbeaten this year. His standard is just to focus on the next game. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

Why: Can they run the table?

Mike Griffith: An undefeated record

Can Georgia hold on to its unbeaten record all season? That is what Mike Griffith feels will the major midseason storyline this year. (Bob Zurga/Getty Images)/Dawgnation)

Why: Griffith did predict the Bulldogs to survive a close scare last week at Missouri.

Jeff Sentell: Elite recruiting morphs into vital depth

One Cover 4 panelist wonders if one of those young pups like Otis Reese might grab even more playing time during the second half of the season. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

Why: We’ve already seen it so far due to injuries, but the physical toll of playing in the SEC will give more of those talented freshmen a chance to make even greater contributions down the stretch.
