Former Georgia outside linebacker Damon Wilson will be staying in the SEC, as the former Georgia outside linebacker announced he will be transferring to Missouri.

Wilson, a 5-star recruit in the 2023 recruiting cycle, will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Wilson had 22 tackles and 3.0 sacks for Georgia this past season. With Mykel Williams and Chaz Chambliss both moving on to the next level, Wilson seemed like a prime candidate for more playing time in 2025.

Instead, he will now suit up for the Missouri Tigers. Missouri and Georgia are not scheduled to play in 2025.

This is the second-straight year a Georgia outside linebacker has transferred to play for Eli Drinkwitz’s team, as Darris Smith transferred there last offseason. Smith missed the entire year due to a knee injury.

Georgia will be incredibly thin at outside linebacker next season. Georgia could move Gabe Harris to the position, after having him play on the defensive line. Georgia liked what it saw out of Quintavius Johnson as a freshman, but he did not make any serious contributions for Georgia this season.

The Bulldogs did sign three outside linebackers in the 2025 recruiting cycle, led by 5-star Isaiah Gibson, 4-star Darren Ikinnagbon and 4-star Chase Linton. All three prospects will enroll early.

Georgia did add six players via the transfer portal so far. In total, 12 have transferred elsewhere. Wilson becomes the eighth to find a new school. Fellow former outside linebacker Sam M’Pemba transferred to Texas A&M.
