Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the cast of DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss UGA coach Kirby Smart’s quest to keep the Bulldogs on top of the SEC. On episode No. 630 (Jan. 29, 2018) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about why one national publication thinks Georgia might take a step back in 2018.

Georgia football podcast: SI suggests UGA ‘at risk of sliding back to the pack’

Beginning of the show: Will 2018 be a a year of regression for Georgia? That’s an idea posed by Sports Illustrated. A key point made by the author is that UGA doesn’t have the same history of restocking its roster the way Alabama has in recent years. Whether UGA duplicates its success from 2017 next season or not, it’s inarguable there will be more doubts about the Bulldogs than the Crimson Tide. In fact, even some UGA players recently made a similar point. I’ll share some audio on the show Monday of what they had to say ― including a clip from Nick Chubb that probably sums up perfectly what UGA needs to attempt to accomplish in the season to come.

10-minute mark: I take a look at 4-star linebacker Otis Reese’s official visit to UGA.

15-minute mark: DawgNation’s Chip Towers joins the show. Some of the topics covered include:

  • A look at UGA’s 2018 schedule
  • A discussion of the likely price increase for UGA tickets
  • A chance to relive some of the top moments in the 2017 season ― including the squib kick that changed the momentum vs. Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl
  • And some thoughts on UGA’s basketball loss to Kansas State

30-minute mark: I take a look at some other SEC headlines, including Alabama running back Damien Harris’ perfect response to more boasting from UCF about its supposed “national championship,” a minor controversy in Arkansas about where it will play its spring game and a bold statement from Florida coach Dan Mullen.

End of show: I update the Gator Hater Countdown.
