Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for Georgia Bulldogs fans. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss coach Kirby Smart’s quest to return the Bulldogs to the top of the SEC. On episode No. 982 (July 11, 2019) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about UGA left tackle Andrew Thomas apparently stepping up as a vocal leader for the Bulldogs.
Georgia football podcast: UGA LT Andrew Thomas has apparently accepted Kirby Smart’s leadership challenge
Beginning of the show: Georgia left tackle Andrew Thomas will join quarterback Jake Fromm and safety J.R. Reed at SEC Media Days Tuesday. Thomas’ inclusion might seem like an obvious choice. However, I’ll explain on this edition of DawgNation Daily why Thomas’ presence at the league’s media function next week might be a possible indication that Thomas is responding well to a previous challenge from UGA coach Kirby Smart to take a step forward as a vocal leader for the Bulldogs.
10-minute mark: I discuss UGA safety Richard LeCounte making the top 50 of Sports Illustrated’s list of best college football players.
15-minute mark: CBS Sports’ Barrett Sallee joins the show to preview more details regarding SEC Media Days.
30-minute mark: I take a look at the other SEC players on Sports Illustrated’s top players list (26-100).
35-minute mark: I share a compliment for UGA offensive line commit Tate Ratledge from former SEC All-American Mike Johnson.
End of the show: I share the Gator Hater Updater.
CONFESSION: I think I got duped by a fake Twitter account on Friday’s episode of DawgNation Daily. I played some audio from national radio host Colin Cowherd about Tennessee making the College Football Playoff. This clip was apparently from 2016. To make matters worse, I also played what I thought was the 2016 clip, and somehow didn’t notice they were the same. The lessson here: I’m not always that smart. However, in fairness, Cowherd picking Tennessee to make the Playoff three years ago is still probably dumber than my mistake.
To hear my flub for yourself, listen to Friday’s show posted below. And by all means, feel free to mock me in the comment section.
