Georgia finished No. 6 in the final Associated Press top 25 and the coaches poll.
Ohio State and Notre Dame, of course, finished No. 1 and No. 2. Oregon and Penn State were also unsurprisingly ahead of UGA.
But what about Texas? The Longhorns came in fourth in the AP poll and third in the coaches poll. What’s the justification for ranking Texas ahead of the Bulldogs?
UGA, and I can’t believe this has to be restated, beat the Longhorns twice this season -- including in Austin in October! If that doesn’t warrant putting Georgia ahead of Texas then what’s the point of playing the games?
UGA’s obviously disappointed about how its season ended, but an SEC championship and two wins over the Longhorns are still significant accomplishments. It would be nice if the poll voters recognized that.

Must Have for the Hoop Dawgs
Georgia basketball has a key SEC matchup tonight at 9 p.m., traveling to an unranked Arkansas team that is still looking for its first conference win.
The Bulldogs have not won an SEC road game yet, but tonight is their first conference game against an unranked opponent. It marks a quick break in the action, as UGA will end its week with a visit to No. 5 Florida.
Georgia has dreams of making its first NCAA Tournament since 2015, but a loss against a rare inferior opponent in the SEC would be a major step in the wrong direction.

Day - U - I
There were plenty of viral moments from the first 12-team College Football Playoff national championship, from incredible catches to booming tackles to debatable calls.
But perhaps the most viral moment came after the Buckeyes won, celebrated, and left the field. It was in the bowels of Mercedes-Benz Stadium that Ohio State coach Ryan Day, quarterback Will Howard and linebacker Cody Simon piled into a golf cart taking them to their next location.
The golf cart ride ended quicker than expected, as the driver appeared to miscalculate how much turning radius was available, immediately crashing into the concrete wall in front of them, nearly running Day into the wall. No one appeared to be injured.
Howard and Simon cackled as they got out of the cart, Day appeared less amused and the trio walked the rest of the way.

Billy By Myself
Florida coach Billy Napier, who ended the season in very good graces with the Gator fan base, was the center of some online frustration today after a report from Zach Goodall of Swamp247. According to the report, Napier is unlikely to hire an offensive coordinator this offseason and plans to call his own plays while leading Florida on the sidelines.
Napier has been the play caller since he was hired in 2021. The Gator offense had a rocky start to the season, averaging just 17 points per game.
Florida appeared to turn it around in the back half of the year, though, as freshman quarterback DJ Lagway found his footing. The Gators averaged over 28 points per game in their final seven matchups, including a 33-8 Gasparilla Bowl domination of Tulane.

Quote of the day
“I want to get Nassir McCoy, Tyriq Green, Ryan Mosely, Jared Curtis, Kaiden Protho and Savion Hiter,” 2026 UGA commit Jontavius Wyman said, naming Georgia targets on his ‘wish list’. “I’m coming to get them ... and Tyler (Atkinson).”
