5-star running back Kendall Milton became the latest major recruit to announce plans to attend G-Day on April 20. That’s the subject of today’s DN90.
Milton joins 5-star defensive back Kelee Ringo in the group of top prospects who’ve officially announced plans to attend Georgia’s annual spring scrimmage, and the attendance list is expected to grow over the next couple weeks.
Milton will arguably be the most important visitor though. Running back is a major position of need for the 2020 class, and Milton — despite his many glowing comments about UGA — hasn’t visited Athens yet.
Milton’s upcoming visit makes good on a promise Milton’s father recently made to DawgNation.
“Absolutely,” Milton’s father, Chris told DawgNation when asked if his son was planning a UGA visit. “We’re just setting up the dates right now. Definitely. He’s been in touch with coach McGee with that.”
We now know that date, and UGA fans should be thrilled.
It also appears at least one of Milton’s fellow 2020 recruits is likely excited about the possibilities too.
G-Day offers the chance for Milton to see the campus and the atmosphere created for the spring scrimmage, which — even if it isn’t quite as intense as the typical fall Saturday — should still be pretty special.
DawgNation’s recruiting insider also explains in today’s DN90 video why the timing of Milton’s visit also allows it the chance to stand out from other visits Milton has planned on his spring tour.
G-Day should be entertaining for a number of reasons. It’s a great sneak preview of what the 2019 season could look like, and it’s also turning into a major recruiting event.
