DN90: Four-star defensive back Nyland Green’s apparel choice gets UGA fans’ attention
College football recruits’ athletic gear choices can often be misleading sources of information about their eventual college choice. However, that won’t stop most fans from noticing when a top prospect wears apparel of a particular school.
The latest example of this phenomenon was found this week when four-star defensive back Nyland Green appeared to be wearing UGA gloves in a training video.
The gloves are perhaps the latest clue that Green’s relationship with the Bulldogs could be growing. Green recently spoke to DawgNation about what he likes about UGA. The school’s proximity to his home in Covington, Ga. was mentioned as a key factor.
“It is right up the street,” Green said. “That’s 35 minutes away from my house. That’s the biggest thing I could ever say.”
UGA gaining momentum in Green’s recruitment would be a significant development. Industry experts have previously tabbed Green as likely to land at Clemson. All three “Crystal Ball” predictions from 247Sports have Green going with the Tigers.
Clemson undoubtedly won’t give up on this battle without a fight, but the Bulldogs — and defensive backs coach Charlton Warren, with whom Green has a strong relationship — will keep the fight going as well.
And when it’s over, Green might end up with a red and black uniform to match those gloves.
