Oh boy, here we go.

Florida players had some media time on Monday afternoon, and a couple of them used it to throw some major shade up to Athens ahead of the Georgia-Florida showdown in Jacksonville on Saturday.

Safety Chauncey Gardner threw the first jab, taking a shot at the Bulldogs passing offense, particularly freshman quarterback Jake Fromm.

While Fromm hasn’t thrown for a whole bunch of yards, he is among the SEC’s leaders in efficiency categories. And in Georgia’s most recent win against Missouri, he threw for 326 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Wide receiver Josh Hammond referenced Georgia’s major struggles in the matchup the last three seasons, when the Bulldogs have been dominated by the Gators. He added that there’s a certain magnitude around this season’s edition of the rivalry.

That’s some significant talk, and it’s only Monday. Rivalry week has arrived.
