Former Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason hasn’t won the Washington QB Derby quite yet, according to a Seattle Times report.
“Those guys are doing a nice job. They’re working hard,” Petersen said in The Seattle Times report. “That’s what (the response) is going to be every time. That’s really what it’s going to be.
“We’re just trying to get those guys reps and let them improve and progress and see who’s building skill.”
The Huskies have five quarterbacks on scholarship:
• Junior Jacob Eason
• Sophomore Jake Haener
• Redshirt freshman Jacob Sirmon
• Redshirt freshman Colson Yankoff
• Freshman early enrollee Dylan Morris
Eason transferred from Georgia to Washington in February of 2018. Eason sat out the 2018 season as per previous NCAA bylaws.
The former Bulldogs QB played 13 games in 2016, completing 204-of-370 passes for 2,430 yards with 16 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
Eason was injured in the 2017 opening game against Appalachian State, providing Jake Fromm with the opportunity to take over the offense, which he did.
