Georgia just added two big-time home-and-homes to its future schedule, as Georgia will now play Texas and Clemson.

Georgia will travel to Austin to take on the Longhorns on Sept. 2, 2028, and will then host Texas on September 1, 2029.  The Bulldogs will play at Clemson on September 15, 2029, and the Tigers will make the return trip to Athens on Aug. 31, 2030. The schedule will result in Georgia playing both Clemson and Texas in 2029.

Georgia also has a 2024 game against Clemson, but that game will be played in Atlanta in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Tigers have made the College Football Playoff in each of the past three seasons and seem poised to do so again this year, as Clemson is 10-0 and ranked No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings. Texas is 7-3 this year under coach Tom Herman and ranked No. 19 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Georgia and Clemson last played in 2014, while the last time Georgia and Texas met came all the way back in 1984 in the Cotton Bowl. Georgia could see either of these teams this season, as the Bulldogs and Tigers could be matched up in the College Football Playoff provided both teams get there. As for Texas, Georgia could see them in the Sugar Bowl, as long as Texas wins the Big 12 and that Georgia is the highest ranked SEC team to not make the College Football Playoff.

The Bulldogs also have future non-conference games scheduled against Notre Dame (home 2019), Virginia (Atlanta 2020), Oregon (Atlanta 2022) and UCLA (at UCLA in 2025, in Athens in 2026). Georgia did beat Notre Dame on the road last season, and that victory played a big part in Georgia getting to the College Football Playoff.

Georgia also faces Georgia Tech every year in non-conference play, meaning Georgia will play three Power Five non-conference teams in the 2029 season. There’s also a chance that the SEC could go to a nine-game conference schedule at some point, meaning Georgia could play 12 straight Power Five teams in the 2029 season.

UGA only plays one Power Five non-conference game this season, and that is the Georgia Tech game, which is scheduled for Nov. 24. That game has a noon kickoff time. Georgia’s other non-conference opponents in 2018 are Austin Peay, Middle Tennessee State and UMass. The Bulldogs take on UMass this Saturday with the kickoff at 4 p.m. ET.
