The season is still far enough away to allow for the UGA football team to break from routine for some unexpected fun.
On Wednesday, the Bulldog players were surprised in a meeting with the announcement of a “Hot Wings Challenge.” It was all captured on video (below).
Here were the rules: Eat four hot wings in three minutes … with no drinks. Sounds simple enough, right? But if you watch the video, it looked like a couple of players were on the brink of tears. Must’ve been some serious Cayenne pepper or similar nuclear pepper spice?
The big winner out of all of this was Adam Anderson. The rising sophomore outside linebacker from Rome, Ga., looked like a fifth-year senior during the spirited contest, downing his four wings within the first 30 seconds. Then, with a sly grin on his face and a shrug, Anderson destroyed some more.
Overseeing the contest was UGA strength and conditioning coach Scott Sinclair, who “set up” everyone earlier this week by chirping at Bulldogs offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer after Salyer tweeted about another hot-wings contest. “First of all wings aren’t on your diet Hot or Not!” No doubt Salyer was part of the fake-out, too.
Nice decoy, Coach. And nice to see the team having some fun times together before the seriousness of the season sets in.
