- “Don’t let the hype get to our heads. We can’t get complacent and we can’t get lazy.” -- Jaylen Johnson on the mindset this week
- “He’s a great teammate, a great player. He’s doing everything he can to get back out there and play with us.” -- Jaylen Johnson on George Pickens.
- “All we’ve done is secure a spot in the SEC championship, which is not what we want to do. We want more than that.” -- Jaylen Johnson
- “Even when he wasn’t practicing, he was still taking mental reps, being diligent in the film room.” -- Jaylen Johnson on JT Daniels
- “Personally I don’t believe in the curse. I believe we control our own destiny. It’s on us.” -- Jaylen Johnson on the Atlanta/Georgia sports curse.
- Warren Ericson shows up wearing a Braves jersey. Says he’s a relatively new Braves fan but very happy for the Atlanta fans.
- “Zamir has progressed continuously step by step throughout the year.” -- Warren Ericson on Zamir White.
- “I would say the detail in each game. Coach Monken really harps on the tiny details.”-- Warren Ericson on the running game.
- Ericson says he grew up a Florida fan.
- “I think it’s a huge credit to him and much overdue. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about his character. I think that’s really awesome that they’re doing it for him and it’s much deserved.” -- Ericson on Mark Richt.
- “This was different because we play, we beat Florida. It was a little different in finding out. That’s one of our many goals. But that’s not the end goal. It’s week 8. We have many more weeks to go. And then when we go out to Atlanta, go out and play our best.” -- Ericson on winning the SEC East.
6 p.m. Nov. 2 update: Georgia coach Kirby Smart is set to speak to reporters following practice. Defensive players Channing Tindall and Kelee Ringo will speak as well.
- “There’s a lot more difference in Tyler Macon. A good athlete. Would be similar to Anthony Richardson in terms of athleticism.” -- Kirby Smart on possible Mizzou QB Tyler Macon. Says it’s a tougher prep this week than compared to last week.
- “Quarterbacks have looked great. Have been pleased with where they’re at.” -- Smart on the Georgia quarterbacks.
- “I think it’s important for both of them to continue to develop and make decisions.” -- Smart on playing both quarterbacks. Doesn’t answer whether Stetson Bennet will start when asked.
- Smart brings up the only one of the seven teams who started as the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff polls. That would be Alabama in 2020.
- “They can tune in and watch the Braves, but not the other.” -- Kirby Smart on Georgia’s viewing habits tonight.
- “I really don’t know on either one. I would say Blaylock is heading in the right direction. It’s not about the ACL. His practice has been hindered by his hamstring.” -- Kirby Smart on Dominick Blaylock.
- “I don’t know on George. Dr. Andrews has been very positive with him. He’s come a long way but he’s come a long way. I do know he’s got a meeting set up in the near future.” -- Smart on George Pickens.
- “The last two practices have been great. They practiced really good yesterday and were really good today.”
- “He’s learning how to lead and set an example. I’m proud of Kelee. He’s come a long way. This man did not practice one time after surgery last year. He will be a leader on this team because he’ll be a guy that has a lot of experience.” -- Smart on Kelee Ringo.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart is set to speak at 12 p.m. ET on Monday, with players following afterward.
- “He’s much closer this week than he was last. But it’s a frustrating injury.” -- Smart on Dominick Blaylock.
- “So his opportunity has gone up a little more. I think our explosive nature in play action has helped him. He’s gotten good opportunities. Some of the designs in the run game have helped. He feels he’s completely healthy for the first time.” -- Kirby Smart on Zamir White.
- “It’s been a lot more important to be explosive than get 3 or 4 yards.” -- Smart on playing with an explosive offense.
- “He’s got great vision, got ultimate toughness. They are really good at running outside zone. He runs with extreme toughness.” -- Smart on Missouri running back Tyle Badie.
- “It’s about discipline and composure. It’s not in the middle of the game or the play.” -- Smart on Kelee Ringo
- “It was great to see him make a play one-on-one. It was something we had worked on all week. He’s working really hard. He’s a great leader. Very pleased with what Kearis does for this team.” -- Smart on Kearis Jackson.
- Smart says Adam Anderson has a finger injury which is why he was in a club on Saturday.
- “Nolan is very prideful. He’s got a strong personality. He conveys the message you want to drive home.” -- Kirby Smart on Nolan Smith and his defense of Stetson Bennett.
- Smart adds that Stetson Bennett’s feet are a big part of his ability and why he’s seeing the field. Highlights five or six plays that he made during the game
