ATHENS — Georgia football will be represented by at least 10 players at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this year, half of them underclassmen.
The NFL released the opening list on Friday. The following Bulldogs set to take the physical, meet with teams and perform timed and measured drill work in Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 23-March 2:
• K Rodrigo Blankenship
• WR Lawrence Cager
• QB Jake Fromm
• RB Brian Herrien
• OL Solomon Kindley
• S J.R. Reed
• RB D’Andre Swift
• OL Andrew Thomas
• OL Isaiah Wilson
• TE Charlie Woerner
The general consensus going into this phase of the NFL draft evaluation process is that at least six Georgia players will be selected this season.
Junior offensive tackle Andrew Thomas is expected to be the first off the board, going within the top 10 picks. Tailback D’Andre Swift is also a projected first-round pick.

A high demand for quarterbacks is expected to play into Jake Fromm’s favor, most confident he will be selected in the first two rounds.
Offensive linemen Isaiah Wilson and Solomon Kindley are other possibilities for the first three rounds, while Thorpe Award finalist and All-American safety J.R. Reed is viewed as a later-round pick.
The Bulldogs had nine players invited to the NFL combine last year, with seven of them drafted.
Cornerback Deandre Baker was a first-round pick of the New York Giants, and Super Bowl champion Mecole Hardman was a second-round pick.
Defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter and tailback Elijah Holyfield went to the combine but were free-agent signees.
Ledbetter made the Dolphins’ active roster, while Holyfield was originally signed to the Carolina practice squad before going to Philadelphia where he is listed on the team roster.
College Football Playoff National Champion LSU led all schools with 16 players invited to the combine, and Ohio State and Michigan had 11 each.
Georgia and Alabama tied for the second most amount of invites in the SEC, each with 10.
Alabama 10
Arkansas 4
Auburn 9
Florida 8
Georgia 10
Kentucky 2
LSU 16
Ole Miss 4
Mississippi State 7
Missouri 6
South Carolina 5
Tennessee 5
Texas A&M 4
Vanderbilt 3
Georgia has a handful of other players that, despite not being invited to the NFL combine, might still be late-round NFL draft picks or sign free-agent contracts.
The Bulldogs will host a “Pro Day” in March.

All 32 NFL teams are likely to be represented at this year’s Pro Day, with general managers, head coaches, assistants and scouts on hand for the mid-March event. The date has yet to be announced.
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was among those on hand last season.

Tight end Eli Wolf played in the East-West Shrine Game and by all reports played well.

Linebacker Tae Crowder finished his UGA career starting all 14 games for a defense that was tops in the nation against the run and No. 1 in scoring defense.
Defensive linemen Michael Barnett, Tyler Clark and David Marshall will also get individual workouts with teams, as will receiver Tyler Simmons and defensive back Tyrique McGhee.
Georgia players proved last year that you can make an NFL roster without a combine invite.
Jayson Stanley and Natrez Patrick were free-agent signees despite not getting invited or taking part in the NFL combine last year.
Stanley was signed by the Falcons and moved to defensive back, and he’s currently on the Jacksonville Jaguars roster.
Patrick was signed by the Rams and played in 12 games last season.
The SEC led all conferences with 93 players invited to the NFL combine this year, followed by the Big Ten (57), the Pac-12 (47), the ACC (35) and the Big 12 (29).
