ATHENS — Georgia signed the No. 1 signing class for the 2024 recruiting cycle. And three members of that class were able to make enough immediate contributions for Georgia to earn recognition on the All-SEC Freshman team.

Running back Nate Frazier, linebacker Chris Cole and safety KJ Bolden all were recognized for their play in 2024.

Frazier led Georgia in rushing this season, totaling 634 yards and 8 touchdowns on the ground. Frazier took on a larger role as Trevor Etienne dealt with a rib injury in November.

“You know, he’s still – he’s still learning things,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said of Frazier after the UMass game. “He still messes up. But he’s electric. He’s different when the ball hits his hands. He bursts in the hole. He probably sometimes too fast. He doesn’t – he’s not patient sometimes. But you talk about a kid that runs hard, works hard, and loves it. And those linemen love playing with him.”

Bolden has earned the most consistent playing time of any freshman. He appeared in every game for the Bulldogs this season, finishing with 54 tackles, 1.0 sacks, a forced fumble and an interception.

Bolden has been a key piece at safety, playing alongside veterans Malaki Starks and Dan Jackson.

“KJ’s done a tremendous job of being, he’s very intelligent,” Smart said prior to the game against UMass. “He understands football. He has great instincts. He’s gotten more confident as a player. Last week, he had to play strong (safety) and free because of the tempo. He didn’t get to play just one position, and he played a lot of snaps for a freshman. And he continues to grow and get better. I like his humility and the fact that he’s a sponge. He’s in meetings, he takes notes. He’s not a know-it-all.”

Cole, like Bolden, was a 5-star recruit in the 2025 recruiting cycle out of Salem, Va. He took on a larger role in Georgia’s third-down package when Smael Mondon missed time with a lower-body injury.

The inside linebacker played in all 13 games, as he also carved out a role on special teams for the Bulldogs. He did have a fumble recovery in wins against Tennessee and UMass, as he scored a touchdown in the win over UMass. He had 16 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss on the season.

“One of the hardest workers. He and Justin (Williams) work extremely hard,” Smart said. “Number one they’re high character, super intelligent, come from great families, and they both work really hard. Chris has had a little more success this year, got more playing time than Justin, but they’re like best friends. And they work really hard, and they’re very demanding of themselves. And Gabe Harris made that sack fumble happen, that was a great get off, great rush by him, and he’s worked really hard.”

Georgia was tied with LSU and South Carolina with three selections on the team. Auburn, Tennessee and Florida each had four selections. South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers was named the Freshman of the Year by the conference.
