ATHENS — Georgia football has some big games coming to Sanford Stadium in the future, but not before a series of games against weaker opposition in Athens.
Austin Peay is the latest “buy” game to be announced, the Governors of Clarksville, Tenn., putting out a release on Thursday that UGA has agreed to pay them to travel to Georgia.
Georgia beat the FCS Ohio Valley Conference School 45-0 last season.
The Bulldogs aren’t currently scheduled to play a Power 5 conference school in Athens other than Georgia Tech until 2026.
Earlier on Thursday, Georgia announced it would play Ohio State in a home-and-home series in 2030-2031.
The Georgia-Austin Peay game is scheduled for Sept. 6, 2025.
A look at the Bulldogs’ schedule that season reflects an Aug. 30 season-opening game at UCLA, and non-conference games with UNC-Charlotte on Nov. 22 in Athens and in Atlanta at Georgia Tech on Nov. 29.
Here’s a look at the updated future non-conference schedules for Georgia football.
