Some of the members of the Georgia football team were recognized for their play and leadership provided during Kirby Smart’s first season.

Center Brandon Kublanow, defensive back Maurice Smith and running backs Sony Michel and Nick Chubb were all named permanent captains for the 2016 season. Smith represented the defense while Kublanow, Michel and Chubb represented the offensive side of the ball.

At the team’s annual year end banquet, Georgia also handed out several other awards:

David Jacobs Award(player who portrays courage, spirit, character and determination):

Former Southern wide receiver Devon Gales.
