Georgia wasn’t going to have any upset talk happen on Saturday in Atlanta as the Bulldogs took care of rival Georgia Tech in big fashion, walking out of Bobby Dodd Stadium with a 38-7 victory.
The Bulldogs rose one spot to No. 6 in the latest AP poll as they prepare for a rematch against Auburn — who rose two spots to No. 4 after its defeat of unbeaten Alabama — in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Georgia will be looking for revenge after suffering its only defeat to the Tigers in a 40-17 lopsided loss.
Alabama fell from the top spot to No. 5, while LSU jumped two spots to No. 17 after its victory against Texas A&M. Mississippi State, which lost to Ole Miss on Thursday, dropped eight spots to No. 24.
