NEW ORLEANS — Tight end Isaac Nauta said the best way to start next season at Georgia is by finishing this season strong with the Bulldogs.

Assuming, of course, Nauta is coming back for his senior season.

Nauta wasn’t tipping his hand on his future following Friday’s practice at  Mercedes-Benz Superdome, but he did make it clear he’s focused on this game.

The No. 5-ranked Bulldogs (11-2) play No. 15 Texas (9-4) at 8:45 p.m. on Jan. 1.

“We definitely want to finish this year our strong,” Nauta said. “In my experience, the way you finish off the year with the bowl game carries you into next season.

“So it’s important for this team to finish and go out strong, go out the right way, send the seniors out the right way, it’s an awesome venue to play in, as well.”
