After a wild turn of events, Jake Fromm could make his first NFL start this Sunday.

Fromm, who was originally drafted by the Buffalo Bills, was signed by the New York Giants last week.

Due to injuries to the Giants’ other quarterbacks, Fromm is trending to starting against the LA Chargers on Sunday. Fromm has never thrown a pass in an NFL game, and barely knows his new team’s playbook.

What’s going on with the other Giants’ QBs? Starter Daniel Jones has yet to be cleared with a strained neck, while replacement Mike Glennon was diagnosed with a concussion after Sunday’s game.

“If Jones and/or Glennon are unable to play, and that will be determined through medical check-ups over the next week, the Giants will turn to Fromm and give him a shot,” wrote Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com.

At Buffalo, Fromm primarily served as QB4 as the “COVID emergency quarterback” in case the others caught the virus and the team needed an instant starter. He was unprotected on the practice squad, and was in danger of being cut.

But as we’ve always seen, things change in a hurry in the NFL. Fromm has a golden opportunity to re-write his professional football story if given the chance to start.
