USA Today is reporting that Georgia freshman quarterback Justin Fields intends to transfer from Georgia. DawgNation nor the University of Georgia has yet to confirm that report. Fields has also not said anything on social media.

Many speculated that Fields was unhappy with his role over the course of the season, and a new video shows exactly how frustrated Fields was early on in the season.

After a 41-17 win over South Carolina on Sept. 8, video captured by Zach Klein of WSB showed Fields lamenting his lack of passing opportunities against the Gamecocks. This was the second game of the season for Georgia.  You can see the full clip below, but warning it does contain explicit language.

Fields acknowledged after the SEC championship game — the only time he spoke with reporters this season — that he was frustrated with his role early on in the season. If Fields does end up transferring from Georgia, his last play in a Bulldog uniform will have been the fake punt on fourth and 11 in the SEC championship game. Fields and Georgia did not convert and the Bulldogs ended up losing to Alabama.

The Georgia freshman quarterback completed 27 of his 39 pass attempts this season for 328 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also rushed for 266 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Fields did not start a game, but he played in 12 of the 13 games.

Dan Wolken, who first reported the news, indicated that Fields plans to apply for a waiver that would grant him immediate eligibility. If the waiver is not approved, Fields will have to sit out a season as he transfers.

Georgia has not confirmed anything regarding Fields. Georgia coach Kirby Smart is scheduled to meet with the media on Wednesday to discuss the matter. Fields was at practice on Monday, as Georgia continues to prepare for the Sugar Bowl. The Bulldogs will play Texas on Jan. 1 in New Orleans.
