Mark Richt was fired as UGA’s coach three years ago.
It sounds like Richt may be on some shaky ground at Miami.
Miami’s 35-3 loss to Wisconsin on Thursday night was so embarrassing to Miami’s athletics director — and Richt’s boss — that he felt the need to vent about it immediately after the game on Twitter, calling it “simply unacceptable.”
Not only was Miami athletics director Blake James unhappy with the Pinstripe Bowl, he also tied in his disappointment to “other times this season.” Here’s the full statement:
Miami dropped to 7-6 with the loss. After the game, Richt was asked if he had given any thought to bringing in an offensive coordinator – since Richt calls the plays.
His response? “I’ll just say this. Things got to get fixed. That will be the number one priority,” Richt told the Miami Herald’s David Wilson and Susan Miller Degnan.
Changes will be happening at Miami in the offseason. How deep will they go? Stay tuned.
