The Green Bay Packers have picked up former Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason, per The Athletic reporter Matt Schneidman.

Green Bay incumbent Jordan Love has continued to negotiate a new contract, leading the NFL franchise to sign a free-agent quarterback for fall camp workouts.

Eason, 26, was in the Packers’ minicamp in May and had worked out for the club last summer, per a USA Today report.

Former Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm, formerly with the Washington Redskins but now a free agent, also worked out for Green Bay before Eason’s signing.

Eason, who transferred from Georgia to Washington after Fromm took over starting duties in 2017, will work as the No. 3 QB in Green Bay behind Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt.
