Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett will get another chance to realize his NFL dreams with the Los Angeles Rams after missing last season for undisclosed reasons, per reports.

Les Snead, the Rams general manager, told the Los Angeles Times that the plan is for the 26-year-old Bennett to take part in the team’s offseason workouts.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart issued the first encouraging report of this offseason on Bennett at his speech in Macon last week.

Smart opened up for a question and answer session, and the first question the ninth-year Bulldogs’ head coach was not about the team’s championship hopes or Heisman Trophy co-favorite Carson Beck.

Rather, the first question was about Bennett, a former Heisman Trophy finalist and two-time CFP Championship Game Offensive MVP who has become one of the most talked about Georgia players in recent history.

Smart told the fans in Macon that Bennett had been back working out in the UGA football building last season before continuing his workouts in Dallas.

Bennett, the Rams’ fourth-round pick in last year’s NFL draft, saw extensive action in the 2023 NFL preseason.

Bennett was 36-of-62 passing (58 percent) for 347 yards with a TD and three interceptions in the 2023 preseason.

Los Angeles returns former Georgia star and Super Bowl champion Matthew Stafford as its starting QB and signed Jimmy Garoppolo.

Bennett is expected to compete for the No. 3 quarterback job on the team, with hopes of elevating to No. 2.

Rams coach Sean McVay said last month Los Angeles would be evaluating Bennett, whose character was called into question leading up to the 2023 NFL draft.

“You figure out where are you at and is this something that we feel like is best for him and for our football team to bring him back into this ecosystem?” McVay told the USA Today last month.

“Those will be conversations that we will have. I think once we have a better idea of what we’ll do with that, then that’ll give clarity.”
