Nick Chubb will look to lead the No. 11 Georgia Bulldogs against No. 17 Mississippi State and come out with a big SEC win on Saturday.

Chubb is one of the top running backs in the country and one of the biggest stars in college football.

1. Nick Chubb, when healthy, is an elite running back

His freshman year, and the first half of his sophomore campaign proved this, but Chubb is one of the best running backs in the country. In his first 13 starts, from Missouri in 2014 to Alabama in 2015, Chubb rushed for 2,068 yards with 19 touchdowns.

2. Nick Chubb has dominated nonconference Power 5 foes

Chubb has always put his biggest and best numbers in major nonconference games for Georgia. In six games against Georgia Tech, Clemson, TCU, North Carolina and Louisville, Chubb has rushed for 917 yards. And against Alabama in 2015, he ran for 146 yards and was the only running back to rush for more than 100 yards against the Crimson Tide that year.

3. Nick Chubb has come back from a devastating knee injury

Of course, after the Alabama game his sophomore year, he suffered a season-ending left knee injury against Tennessee on his first carry of the game. Chubb missed the rest of his sophomore season but did return for the beginning of his junior year.

4. Nick Chubb and Sony Michel will have to step up in Jacob Eason’s absence

In the opening game of this season, Georgia lost its starting quarterback, Jacob Eason, to a knee sprain and the Bulldogs will be starting Jake Fromm in his absence. This will be the first career SEC start for Fromm, who will lean on Chubb and Sony Michel to make things easier. The duo rushed for 183 yards against App State.

5. Nick Chubb is a workout warrior

Chubb’s workout routine and videos are the stuff of legends. He’s been seen squatting over 600 pounds and performing a number of other feats of strength in the weight room. Chubb is coming off his first 100-yard performance of the season and has flashed signs of the old Chubb so far in 2017. Georgia kicks off against Mississippi State at 7 pm on ESPN.

Chubb also is the No. 5 rusher in the conference, despite having just 44 carries through the first 3 games for Georgia. Chubb has split carries with Michel and freshman D’Andre Swift to start the season. .
