DawgNation has four staffers who cover Georgia football from every angle: Beat, live streams, photos, podcasts, recruiting, etc. The “Cover 4” concept here is simple: 1) Present a topic; 2) Offer a reasoned response; 3) Share a brisk statement to support the informed opinion. 4) Pepper the page with big photos to get the big picture. For this edition, we give potential fan-favorite candidates the “Cover 4” look.
DawgNation returns this week with the “Cover 4” concept which was in our regular story rotation in 2018.
We have four staffers who cover the UGA athletics program on a full-time basis and that means the focus shifts to a timely “Cover 4” look with each of our guys manning the secondary here.
The quick in-and-out game still remains. These takes are designed to come out quicker than former Bulldog Mecole Hardman Jr. ran the 40 this year at the NFL combine.
The fourth “Cover 4” question of the regular season is:
Who is the next fan favorite on the team?
Brandon Adams: Zamir White
The “why” from “DawgNation Daily” here: “It’s perhaps too easy an answer, but every indication I’ve gotten is White is on his way to full health, and a healthy White will be an enormous problem for the rest of college football.“
Mike Griffith: Richard LeCounte III
The “why” from “On the Beat” here: “Richard has a great personality, is all sorts of fun to interview, and he tells it like it is — oh, and I think he’s going to have a breakout season.”
Connor Riley: Dominick Blaylock
The “why” from “Good Day UGA” here: “I know he hasn’t played a down yet. But Blaylock is just a really, really good football player. I think he’s going to make a couple of plays as a freshman and become someone the Georgia fan base really likes.“
Jeff Sentell: Tyler Simmons
The Intel here: “My pick seems like college here. Going past candidates like Nakobe Dean, Azeez Ojulari and Nolan Smith for the hipster fave from 2018. Simmons goes mainstream this fall. Gobbles up the yards and his legacy becomes the big play. Not a mystery call.”
