Former Georgia head coach Mark Richt is still keeping in touch with Devon Gales, the former Southern University player who was paralyzed due to a spine injury he suffered against the Bulldogs.

Gales suffered the injury when Southern played Georgia on Sep. 26, 2015, when Richt was the head coach at Georgia. Since then, Georgia and its fans have welcomed him into their family.

Even though Richt is no longer in Athens, he’s still staying close to the former player. The Miami (FL) head coach invited Gales and his family to campus to see the Hurricanes take on North Carolina this weekend.

Richt tweeted pictures with Gales and his family, calling them “U Family.”

With Richt in Miami, Gales now gets to be an honorary family member for two historic college football teams.
