ATHENS — Georgia scored an eye-opening 35 points in the second quarter en route to a 63-17 victory while hosting Murray State on Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium on Saturday afternoon. That tally was the most points any Georgia football team had scored in a quarter since hanging 42 on New Mexico State in 2011.

Of course, there were a lot of big plays. The George Pickens catches were among those. So was that scoop-and-score from senior safety J.R. Reed. There was also the first “Zeeeeeeuuuuus” moment between the hedges of Dooley Field, too.

It was a day for a lot of firsts. Prized freshman receiver Dominick Blaylock even got in the first touchdown of his Georgia career.

Check out this collection of images from AJC photographers Bob Andres and Curtis Compton and DawgNation’s own photo inventory from the runaway win.

Reed delivered a scoop-and-score off after Tae Crowder jarred out a fumble. His 14-yard return was his first score since also reaching the end zone against Florida last season.

D’Andre Swift didn’t need to touch the ball a lot against Murray State. He still finished with six carries for 67 yards and two scores. (Curtis Compton/AJC)/Dawgnation)
