Austin Blaske was set on choosing North Carolina State. He chose the Wolfpack back in April. Certainly.

Yet he picked up a very late offer from Georgia. That changed things. Did it ever.

His tweet below says a lot.

“I made a promise to a true friend that is no longer with us that if a certain opportunity presented itself I would consider it,” he wrote in that tweet.

He got the offer from Georgia on Monday. The young man did more than consider it.

Blaske committed to Georgia on Wednesday on the first day of the early signing period. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder from South Effingham High School near Savannah is now a Bulldog.

The senior from South Effingham High School (Rincon, Ga.) now becomes the 19th public commitment for the Bulldogs in their 2020 class.

The 3-star recruit currently ranks as the nation’s No. 42 OT and the No. 524 overall prospect on the 247Sports Composite ratings.

With his decision, the Bulldogs now jump LSU for the No. 4 position in the 247Sports Team Composite rankings for the 2020 cycle.
