Don’t expect a lot of Georgians to get a lot of work done tomorrow.
Emergency root canal? Traffic? Car trouble? Work from home?
That’s the thinking after a Fox5 report stated that 5-star QB Justin Fields is expected to make his college commitment on Friday.
The 6-foot-3, 221-pound QB prospect will choose between Alabama, FSU, LSU and Georgia. He was at one time committed to Penn State but chose to back off that pledge earlier this summer.
Fields has been without a doubt the most anticipated decision of the 2018 class for the Bulldogs for quite some time. The 5-star QB prospect is a true dual threat and he rates as the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect this year.

It is set to take place at a Harrison High pep rally of all things in advance of Friday night’s home game against Cobb County rival Sprayberry.
Atlanta’s Fox5 was the first to share news of that report.
Fields, the nation’s No. 1 QB, is expected to choose Georgia. He was anticipated to take an official visit to FSU this weekend. That would have been his third official visit after trips earlier this year to Alabama and LSU.

The timing of this decision indicates that he might not be making that trip. He has already taken a couple of unofficial visits to Athens to see the Bulldogs face Samford and Mississippi State earlier this season.
The 5-star prospects won the Elite 11 QB derby this summer at the prestigious Nike Opening finals in Oregon.
If he does choose the Bulldogs, he will become the third consecutive 5-star QB to choose the Bulldogs. That has never been done in the modern history of college football recruiting since the star system and widespread position rankings became so ingrained into the sport.
