According to just about every recruiting service, Brock Vandagriff is the top quarterback prospect in the state for the class of 2021. Per 247Sports, Vandagriff rates as the No. 35 overall prospect in the 2021 class and the No. 2 player in the state.

We tell all of you this because Vandagriff released his list of his final six schools on Tuesday. And the home state Georgia Bulldogs were one of those schools to make the cut.

The other contenders for Vandagriff’s services include Oklahoma, Florida, Clemson, Tennessee and Auburn.

Vandagriff hails from Bogart, Ga. which is located just outside of Athens. He played his high school football at Prince Avenue Christian Academy. As a sophomore, Vandagriff threw for 3,190 yards and 28 touchdowns in 13 games.

DawgNation’s Jeff Sentell caught up with Vandagriff back in March, and Vandagriff provided some intel on what will influence his decision.

“I will choose a school because of relationships,” Vandagriff said. “I want to be close with the coaches and with the players. To be able to feel like I trust them and want them to be able to mature me.”

Vandagriff did give a more specific update on how he felt about Georgia.

“I think Georgia is looking great,” Vandagriff said. “The way Jake Fromm reads stuff he is so smart on the field. That comes from his coaching. So that stuff like that with Georgia is going to be really good for me.”

Vandagriff will be throwing at Georgia this week, as the Bulldogs host a number of elite quarterback prospects spread out across multiple recruiting classes. Other quarterbacks expected to be in Athens this week include 2020 quarterback commit Carson Beck and 2021 target Caleb Williams.
