There was a time where 5-star prospect Justin Rogers was trending to Georgia. The Bulldogs had surged out in front of Ohio State right after the July west end zone dedication. 

That was also right about the time that Rogers was just seen as the nation’s No. 1 OG prospect for the 2020 cycle.

A lot of things have been changed since then, including the fact that Georgia signed a former teammate in freshman QB D’Wan Mathis out of Oak Park in Michigan.

Rogers played at defensive end and middle linebacker last fall and has expressed the interest to only play defensive tackle or offensive tackle at the college level.

That’s fairly uncommon. As a result, we’ve seen Georgia bob and weave just a bit in published reports among his top school grouping.

Rogers still rates as the nation’s No. 1 OG prospect on the 247Sports Composite ratings, but he’s also dropped a star.

The nation’s No. 30 overall prospect for this cycle has also confirmed two storylines this morning with Dawgnation.

That information was first reported by Josh Helmholdt of Rivals.com. 

Kentucky and Tennessee have both surged of late in this recruiting process. The popular 247Sports “Crystal Ball” feature lists Ohio State as the current prediction favorite. The Buckeyes come just ahead of the “undecided” option and then Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia in that order, respectively. 

It seems like Rogers is more than capable of providing a few more twists here over the next few weeks. The Bulldogs do now hold the coveted final official visit slot prior to his upcoming decision.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound rising senior lists himself as a DE/DT on his Hudl profile page. He worked out at the Under Armour “Future 50” event back in January on the defensive line.
