One of the nation’s top recruits will take an official visit to UGA this weekend.
Kyle Davis, the No. 1 receiver in the class of 2016, will officially visit Athens this Saturday for UGA’s much-anticipated contest against Alabama, per Archer head coach Andy Dyer.
This will be Davis’ first official visit of the fall. The 6-foot-1, 218-pounder is set to announce his commitment on Oct. 23 before the team’s game against Central Gwinnett.
Davis is rated as the No. 3 player in the state of Georgia.
What it means: UGA has definite needs at the receiver position, and a commit from a talent like Davis is one that UGA will definitely accept. 5-star QB Jacob Eason anchors this signing class. UGA needs to surround him with elite receivers like Davis to give him the weapons he needs to win big games in the SEC.
UGA is a major contender for his commitment but will have to also fend off Auburn and Tennessee for him. He will also enroll early. That gives him a great shot to contribute as a true freshman. (Jeff Sentell)
