We only thought Jacob Eason had done it all by now.
UGA’s prized 5-star quarterback commitment has already slung spirals across the great state of Washington that deserve a vapor trail. He’s authored a perfect 13-for-13 night passing. Last week he even went Mike Vick on a 26-yard touchdown run. That’s a 6-foot-6 player doing that.
Yet just when there was no possible Eason encore, there is this: He punted this past Friday night for 46 yards.
That was in the midst of driving rain just shy of animals walking in pairs. He boomed that kick for 46 yards. He’s the regular punter, but that kick came after a rare Lake Stevens drive that didn’t end in a touchdown over the last three weeks.
Eason also completed 14 of 18 passes for 321 yards and four touchdowns. That all came in the first half of another impressive 48-0 victory for Lake Stevens High School. The Vikings are now 5-0.
Eason is now 69 of 94 (73 percent completion rate) on the season for 1,346 yards and 14 touchdowns. No interceptions. He also met at least one UGA fan in a Todd Gurley jersey after Friday’s game.
The nation’s No. 2 quarterback also signed a UGA football helmet outside his locker room and welcomed four UGA alums from Savannah to the Pacific Northwest last week.
He enrolls in January.
