Jamaree Salyer moves people.
That’s it in a nutshell. The football stuff would just be the surface definition there.
Salyer, the 5-star guard prospect, is the nation’s highest-rated offensive-line prospect this year. That’s all the centers, guards and those ultra-valuable tackles across America.
The 6-foot-4, 340-pound prospect attends Pace Academy in Metro Atlanta, one of the finest schools in the country. His transcript shines bright enough to receive athletic scholarships to both Notre Dame and Stanford.
That’s a very impressive accomplishment for a player who is also the highest-rated prospect at center or guard since 2006.
UGA is in the thick of the race for Salyer. Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Stanford belong in the discussion, too.
SEC Country Studios has chosen Salyer for its first documentary series spotlighting one of the top players in SEC country because he checks every box for a storyline that’s more than just football.
- What makes him tick?
- How hard has school been?
- What has been his journey?
- Did he have this potential a few years ago?
- What is he like both on and off the field?
- What drives him?
- Does he miss a block? What happens when he does?
- What role did his position coach play in his development?
We will learn the answers to all those questions about Salyer this fall.

What this will be about
SEC Country Studios will follow Salyer all season long at Pace Academy. We’ll track the highs and lows and also the everyday life of an elite college prospect. What does all this recruiting attention mean to him? What does he really think about those schools?
That material will be in there. But we also hope to show another layer of Salyer’s life. His academic grind or just being a high-school kid having fun after practice.
We owe a very special thanks to Salyer and the Pace Academy coaching staff for placing their faith in us to tell this story. His story.
Not just where he is going to school and how good he is going to be one day.
