This next 12 hours will seem a lot like Jamaree Salyer Day on DawgNation.
The third chapter of The Season appears below for the first time on DawgNation. This chapter, which focuses on Salyer’s personal family dynamic, debuted earlier this month on the DieHards, DawgNation and SECCountry Facebook pages.
Salyer, the 5-star UGA signee, finished the 2018 cycle rated as the nation’s top guard. He also wound up with a No. 10 overall ranking nationally on the 247Sports composite.
Salyer spent his senior season rated as the nation’s top offensive lineman for 2018. Five-star tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere, who signed with Ohio State, moved ahead of him when the final rankings were released in January.
Salyer is the highest-rated guard prospect on the 247Sports composite since 2006. He began his senior season as an uncommitted prospect, and The Season followed him along his senior path. He chose Georgia on the first day of the early signing period in December.
DawgNation also will post the final installment of The Season later Wednesday. That will focus on the student-athlete balance he handles so well at Pace Academy in Atlanta.

The previous chapters of Salyer’s story are linked below. The first chapter focused on his motivation to excel as a national recruit. The next installment detailed his personal connection to Pace Academy offensive line coach Kevin Johnson.
Chapter 1: Just Trying to Get His Momma a House
Chapter 2: The man who chiseled out a 5-star
DieHards also produced a unique commitment video featuring Salyer’s choice. That was released when he made his college decision on Dec. 20.
Salyer was one of seven prospects with the elite 5-star rating who signed as part of the UGA Class of 2019. His decision helped the Bulldogs sign the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class for the first time in the modern era of college recruiting coverage that dates back to 1999.
