It looks like the rumors about UGA’s new offensive line coach will likely turn out to be true.
Former Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke is expected to fill the UGA vacancy, according to Yahoo Sport’s Pete Thamel.
For UGA, losing Sam Pittman as the team’s offensive line coach was a big blow. The new Arkansas coach was an ace recruiter and well-liked.
However, hiring Luke – considering his background as an SEC head coach – would be a tremendous countermove by the Bulldogs.
Luke has already been publicly endorsed for the UGA vacancy by a couple of former Bulldog offensive linemen, including David Andrews, who plays for the NFL’s New England Patriots.
Luke, 43, was the Ole Miss coach for the last three seasons. Before that, Luke was offensive line coach and assistant offensive coordinator for the Rebels from 2012 to 2016. He also was an assistant at a Tennessee, Duke and Murray State.4
