ATHENS — Late during warm-ups on Saturday, as Georgia prepared to leave the field, an old friend emerged from the tunnel.
Todd Gurley, his St. Louis Rams off this weekend, stood “between the hedges,” in the east end zone. Coincidentally, the former Georgia star will see his old team face off against Missouri, his new home-state team.
Gurley slapped hands with old teammates and coaches, including Bryan McClendon, who recruited him to Georgia out of Tarboro, N.C.
Later Gurley posed for a photo with two other players from last year’s Georgia team: Receiver Michael Bennett and offensive lineman Watts Dantzler.
When the game began Gurley could be seen hanging out at the training table with Nick Chubb.
