I’m not sure UGA’s football coaches will market this to elite recruits like they will Bill Belichick’s high praise for UGA developing NFL talent, but some prospects may like hearing this:

Niche.com released its annual list of the top college party towns across the country, and UGA ranked as No. 2, trailing only Tulane in New Orleans, per @CFBHome.

Who wants to do all those hard football practices and winter workouts, and not be able to have a little fun in the downtime?

That’s some major love for the Bulldog nation from Niche.come, which bases rankings on”dozens of public data sets and millions of reviews. Our data scientists and user researchers rigorously analyze data and user opinions …” Per Forbes, “Niche.com relies on student reviews, like a Yelp for colleges, this list seems close to what students might really want to hear.”

Here’s the top 15 from the list:

1 Tulane 2 Georgia 3 West Virginia 4 Wisconsin 5 Howard 6 Illinois 7 Indiana 8 Alabama 9 Florida State 10 Texas 11 Iowa 12 Southern Methodist 13 California 14 Miami (FL) 15 Penn State

My thoughts on that list? I think UGA ought to No. 1, but I’m biased. Tulane has the advantage of being located in New Orleans, one of the world’s top cities. How did West Virginia make No. 3? Not sure I’ve really heard many people talk about Morgantown, W.V. On the flip side, it’s no surprise that Wisconsin ranks in the top five and No. 1 among Big Ten schools. I would’ve thought Texas would’ve been higher, and that UCLA would’ve been on the list. As far as SEC schools, I’m surprised Vanderbilt didn’t make it since Nashville is one of the Southeast’s top cities.
