ATHENS — We won’t make this a daily update on Nick Chubb’s progress – though one might draw enough interest to justify it. No, we’ll post updates and video when warranted, and on Friday it was once again warranted.

Last week Kirby Smart cautioned that Chubb wasn’t doing any cutting yet, and was only running straight ahead, at least during the one drill he did during practice. Well, during Friday’s practice Chubb was, while on the side, doing more than just running straight ahead, as you can see this video.

Chubb wasn’t quite cutting and planting his feet. But he wasn’t just running straight ahead either. It’s clear that Chubb has progressed enough that he and head athletic trainer Ron Courson felt comfortable testing it a bit more.
