CLOVIS, Calif. — Kendall Milton made it official on Monday night. After months of visits and discussion’s the nation’s No. 22 overall prospect made his decision public. He did so in a family-themed commitment video.
With his finalists of LSU, Ohio State, Alabama and Georgia, the 5-star running back announced a commitment to the Bulldogs.
You can watch Milton’s full video below, which also features his mother and father also speaking about Kendall’s decision.
The video also features a cameo from former Georgia running back Todd Gurley. The now Los Angeles Ram played at Georgia from 2012-14 before becoming a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
Milton made his decision to commit to Georgia during his official visit in June.
“This decision took a lot of thought,” Kendall Milton said. “It took a lot of long talks with my family and people that I consider close to my family. I just feel right about the decision.”
Milton is the No. 4 ranked running back. But he might not be Georgia’s only one in the class. This season will be Brian Herrien’s final year of eligibility and there is a possibility junior running back D’Andre Swift declares for the 2020 NFL Draft.
That would leave Georgia only with four scholarship running backs entering next season, should Milton end up signing — which he intends to do. Two fo those running backs, Zamir White and James Cook have battled injury issues for their time in Athens.
That’s why Milton has made it a point to go out and recruit another elite running back to join him in Athens.
There are two names that he brought up when speaking with DawgNation following his Monday announcement: Zachary Evans and Tank Bigsby.
Evans is the No. 1 ranked running back in the country. The 5-star prospect comes from Texas and was at Georgia this past weekend. Bigsby is the No. 7 ranked running back but also the No. 1 running back in the state of Georgia.
“I plan on playing with another great back,” he said. “So [I’m] going after Zach. Going after Tank. Trying to put together this all-star team to make the competition a little bit easier.”
This is the fourth straight recruiting class that Georgia has landed a commitment from a 5-star running back, as Swift did it as a part of the 2017 cycle, White followed in 2018 and then John Emery Jr. did so for the 2019 class. Emery did not end up signing with Georgia, and will instead play for the LSU Tigers.
Milton’s commitment gives Georgia 16 public commitments as a part of the 2020 class. Georgia has the No. 5 ranked class in the country for the 2020 cycle.
