Playing in the Masters probably has a whole new feel for former Georgia golfer Russell Henley, as he and his wife had their first child, a son named Robert Russell Henley, earlier this week, per The Macon Telegraph.
Henley, who will be appearing in his fifth Masters, skipped his practice round on Tuesday but will compete this week. In 2017, he tied for 11th place at the annual tournament in Augusta.
A three-time winner on the PGA Tour, Henley, who tees off in the first round on Thursday at 12:32 p.m. ET, feels that he has a shot at winning the tournament and getting to slip on the famous green jacket that is given to the annual winner.
“I’ve been playing well, had a good year last year and I feel like I know the golf course well,” he said.
With his wife, Teil, and newborn son recovering well, Henley can now focus fully at the task at hand.
