This Sentell’s Intel rep on Georgia football recruiting has the latest on the 2025 signing class and when they all planned to report to Athens to begin their college football careers.

Kirby Smart celebrates his 49th birthday today. He’s got a big game against Notre Dame to prepare for this month.

He’s also using those bowl practices this month to get a good sneak preview of the building blocks of the future of his program. There are a number of signees from the 2025 Georgia football recruiting class who have already made it up to Athens for early bowl practices and preparations.

A good chunk of the class showed up last week, took their physicals, checked into nearby hotels and started practicing with the Bulldogs for the Sugar Bowl.

The squad will return home to their families for a quick Christmas break, but the roster will quickly reassemble in Athens on Christmas night. The current schedule for the 2025 National Championship playoff quarterfinal has the Bulldogs arriving in New Orleans on December 29.

DawgNation has been tracking the early enrollee status of the 2025 signing class all fall and there have been a few developments over the last few weeks.

  • The Dawgs will show up in waves. There were seven members of the class who reported last week and got in some practices either early last week or over the weekend.
  • Another 10 members of the 2025 class are expected to show up on Christmas Day or shortly thereafter.
  • 5-star DL Elijah Griffin is the cornerstone recruit of the class. It marks the first time in the Kirby Smart era that the Dawgs have signed the No. 1 DT prospect in a cycle. Griffin will be an early enrollee, but he also plans to compete in the Under Armour All-American Game and go down for those practices later this month.
  • 5-star WR Talyn Taylor will be quite busy this month. He plans to report to UGA on Christmas night. He will get in a couple of bowl practices and then head to Nashville on Dec. 30 for recognition at the Music City Bowl as a finalist for a national player of the year honor. He will then head to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl.
  • After that, he will compete in the Navy All-American Bowl out in San Antonio. He will be a part of the East team and be coached by SEC and UGA legend Terrence Edwards out in Texas. The Navy All-American Bowl will take place on Jan. 11. In the event Georgia beats Notre Dame and advances to the Orange Bowl, he will miss being with UGA at that game because of his commitment to the East team for the Navy All-American Bowl.
  • 4-star IOL Dontrell Glover will now enroll early with the team, but he won’t be able to go through bowl practices with the team prior to the Sugar Bowl.
  • Massive 4-star OT Juan Gaston Jr. will now enroll early at UGA, but he does not plan to go through early bowl practices. He will compete in the Under Armour All-American Game next week. That game will take place on January 2.
  • 4-star WR Thomas Blackshear Jr. will not enroll early with the team.
  • Promising 4-star DB Rasean Dinkins will not enroll early with the team, but that was the plan all along as needed to finish up the spring semester in high school.

Georgia football: Which signees will enroll early and practice this month?

There are a couple of wrinkles to iron out with the class.

The Bulldogs have announced 25 signees with the team, but there are three members of the class that have not been trumpeted by the program on its social media accounts.

Late 3-star flip Daniel Okonkwo (Northern Illinois) will have to complete his spring semester at Hillgrove High School in Metro Atlanta for mandatory credits. He will report to UGA in May after his high school graduation. That said, the Dawgs are expected to welcome both 4-star DB Jalyan Morgan and 3-star QB flip Hezekiah Millender-Hale (Boise State) as early enrollees.

The latest Intel provided to DawgNation indicates that 25 of the 28 members of the 2025 class will be early enrollees. Georgia’s action in the transfer portal will also add to the incoming roster with several future Dawgs joining the program for the spring semester at UGA.
